Job Description

As an Account Manager specializing in Client Finance at The Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB), you will play a pivotal role at the forefront of building and nurturing robust, long-term relationships with our valued corporate and high-net-worth clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and strategically grow a diverse portfolio of corporate and high-net-worth clients, serving as their primary financial advisor and trusted point of contact.
  • Proactively identify and thoroughly understand clients' intricate financial needs, overarching objectives, and unique challenges to deliver highly customized banking and financial solutions.
  • Engage clients regularly through proactive communication to deepen relationships, enhance overall client satisfaction, and ensure long-term client retention.
  • Expertly cross-sell MCB's diverse range of products and services, including but not limited to loans, trade finance, wealth management, and cutting-edge digital banking solutions.
  • Conduct rigorous financial analysis and comprehensive risk assessments for client portfolios, ensuring absolute compliance with internal bank policies and all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, detailed financial reports, and strategic recommendations to clients, clearly articulating value propositions.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with various internal departments (e.g., Credit, Legal, Product Development) to streamline service delivery, expedite issue resolution, and ensure a cohesive client experience.
  • Monitor global and local market trends, competitor activities, and economic developments to proactively identify new business opportunities and potential risks to client portfolios.
  • Ensure all client documentation is accurately maintained, meticulously updated, and securely stored in strict accordance with bank standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Actively participate in business development initiatives, networking events, and industry forums to expand the client base and enhance MCB's market presence.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience of at least 4 years in account management, relationship management, or a similar client-facing role within the financial services industry.
  • Strong and demonstrable understanding of corporate banking products, wealth management principles, and financial markets dynamics.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and professional presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Superior analytical abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial data and identify strategic opportunities and risks.
  • Proficiency in utilizing financial software, CRM systems, and other relevant banking technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, cultivate, and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with a diverse range of clients.
  • Sound and up-to-date knowledge of local and international financial regulations and compliance frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a closely related field.
  • Possession of relevant professional certifications such as CFA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience working with international clients or within a broader regional financial context.
  • Fluency in French and/or other regional languages in addition to English.
