Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
- Prepare and submit tax returns (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax) and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management and clients.
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with labor laws.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
- Liaise with auditors during annual audits and assist with audit queries.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, SAP Business One).
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GRAP and South African tax legislation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional accounting designation (e.g., SAIPA, AGA(SA), CA(SA) candidate).
- Experience with financial modeling and business intelligence tools.
