Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Assist with the preparation of corporate tax returns and ensure timely submission to HMRC.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and other financial records.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, adhering to strict deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve accounting discrepancies and provide financial insights.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
Required Skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
- Solid understanding of UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with diverse stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Part-qualified or fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Experience working within a professional services firm or with multiple clients.
- Familiarity with financial modelling and forecasting.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting or leading process improvement initiatives.
