Key Responsibilities
- Process invoices, expense claims, and payment requests accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and assist with month-end close procedures.
- Maintain sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and management accounts.
- Handle queries from suppliers and clients regarding payments and invoices.
- Support the finance team with general administrative duties and ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Manage and reconcile petty cash transactions.
- Assist with VAT returns and other statutory submissions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar financial role.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, data analysis).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
Preferred Qualifications
- AAT qualification (Foundation, Advanced, or Professional Diploma).
- Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
