Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage groups of tourists on guided tours, ensuring a safe, informative, and enjoyable experience.
- Provide engaging commentary on local history, culture, geography, flora, and fauna of Tranquebar and wider Mauritius.
- Plan and execute tour itineraries, including managing timings, transport, and activity logistics.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all tour participants, especially during adventure activities.
- Handle administrative duties such as checking bookings, processing payments, and providing accurate tour information.
- Resolve conflicts or issues that may arise during tours with professionalism and efficiency.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor, acting as a positive ambassador for Mauritius.
- Adapt tour plans and narratives to suit the interests and physical capabilities of diverse groups.
- Promote sustainable tourism practices and respect for local communities and environments.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills in English and French.
- In-depth knowledge of Mauritian history, culture, geography, and natural attractions.
- Strong leadership and group management abilities.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
