Job Description
We are urgently seeking motivated and reliable Agriculture Field Laborers to join our team in Petersfield, Westmoreland. This is an immediate hire opportunity for individuals passionate about contributing to the agricultural sector. As an Agriculture Field Laborer, you will be instrumental in the daily operations of our farm, performing a variety of tasks essential for crop cultivation and harvesting. Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual labour tasks such as planting, cultivating, and harvesting various crops (e.g., vegetables, fruits, sugarcane).
- Assist with irrigation duties, including setting up and monitoring irrigation systems.
- Engage in weed control, pest management, and crop maintenance activities as directed.
- Operate and maintain basic farm machinery and tools safely and efficiently.
- Prepare fields for planting, including clearing land, tilling, and soil conditioning.
- Monitor crop health and report any signs of disease, pests, or other issues to supervisors.
- Participate in sorting, grading, and packaging harvested produce for transportation.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the farm.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of farm areas, tools, and equipment.
- Support other farm operations and duties as assigned by the farm supervisor.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding tasks outdoors for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in various weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
