Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming air cargo against manifests and documentation, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Prepare, sort, and label outbound cargo for air transport, adhering to airline regulations and international shipping standards.
- Safely and efficiently load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing.
- Perform general warehouse duties, including inventory management, organisation, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and update digital tracking systems accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures, aviation security regulations, and health and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external partners to ensure seamless operations.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or irregularities concerning cargo.
- Operate various warehouse equipment and machinery safely and proficiently after appropriate training.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or cargo handling environment (preferably 18+ months).
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 25kg) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for data entry and system updates.
- Excellent time management and organisational abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- A valid UK Driving Licence.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift (FLT) licence (Reach/Counterbalance) or willingness to obtain one.
- Knowledge of aviation security procedures and regulations (e.g., DfT training).
- Experience with cargo screening equipment.
- Previous experience specifically in air cargo or freight forwarding operations.
