Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging activities and experiences for children aged 0-5, adhering strictly to the EYFS framework.
- Observe, assess, and record children's progress, ensuring individual needs are met and developmental milestones are supported effectively.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment that encourages learning, exploration, and social development for all children.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, fostering effective communication and partnership.
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all children in accordance with nursery policies and statutory requirements, including robust safeguarding procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including learning journeys, accident forms, and daily registers.
- Participate actively in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities.
- Assist with meal times, sleep routines, and personal care as required, always promoting independence where appropriate.
- Contribute to the overall cleanliness, organisation, and inviting atmosphere of the nursery environment.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Early Years Education and Childcare (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Demonstrable experience working as a Nursery Practitioner or in a similar early years setting (minimum 1 year post-qualification).
- Thorough understanding and practical application of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- A genuine passion for early childhood development, education, and children's well-being.
- Ability to plan and implement creative, age-appropriate, and stimulating activities.
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Unwavering commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paediatric First Aid qualification (current and valid).
- Experience with specific early years assessment tools or digital learning journey platforms.
- Knowledge of current best practices and research in early years education.
- Additional training or experience in Special Educational Needs Co-ordination (SENCO) or behaviour management.
