You will manage the entire lifecycle of air cargo shipments, from initial booking and documentation to customs clearance and final delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor air freight shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Prepare, review, and process all necessary shipping documentation, including airway bills, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
  • Liaise with airlines, customs brokers, and ground handlers to optimize transit times and resolve any operational issues.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates to clients regarding shipment status, potential delays, and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all international and domestic air freight regulations, security protocols, and customs compliance.
  • Manage and track freight costs, invoicing, and billing accuracy for all air cargo movements.
  • Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies or challenges that may arise during the shipping process.
  • Maintain strong relationships with carriers and vendors to negotiate favorable rates and service agreements.
  • Utilize freight forwarding software and systems to input data, generate reports, and manage shipment details.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to provide integrated logistics solutions.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in air freight operations or international logistics.
  • Proficiency in freight forwarding software and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong understanding of air cargo regulations, customs procedures, and international trade terms (Incoterms).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client and vendor interaction.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities with a proven capacity to multitask.
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations certification.
  • Experience with specific freight management systems (e.g., CargoWise One, Magaya, Descartes).
  • Knowledge of import/export compliance specific to North American markets.
  • Bilingual capabilities (e.g., Spanish, French) are a plus.
