Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior officers in responding to calls regarding stray, injured, or deceased animals.
- Learn and apply techniques for the safe and humane capture and transportation of various animals.
- Investigate initial complaints of animal cruelty, neglect, or nuisance, documenting findings thoroughly.
- Participate in the enforcement of municipal bylaws and provincial regulations related to animal control and responsible pet ownership.
- Provide basic animal first aid and assess animal health and behavior under supervision.
- Educate the public on responsible pet ownership, licensing requirements, and animal welfare issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all incidents, observations, and actions taken.
- Collaborate with local shelters, veterinary clinics, and law enforcement agencies as needed.
- Perform routine patrols to identify and address potential animal-related concerns within the community.
- Clean and maintain animal control equipment and vehicles.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
