Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and SOAP APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Collaborate with product managers, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to define API requirements and specifications.
- Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code, ensuring high performance and scalability of APIs.
- Implement security best practices for API authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of APIs to ensure reliability and functionality.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members.
- Document API specifications, guidelines, and best practices for internal and external consumption.
- Monitor API performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary optimizations.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to API development and integration.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, C#).
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and experience with API lifecycle management.
- Experience with database technologies (SQL and NoSQL, e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL).
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms for APIs (e.g., OAuth2, JWT).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
