Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API requirements and specifications.
- Implement API security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption.
- Develop comprehensive API documentation (e.g., OpenAPI/Swagger) for internal and external consumers.
- Perform API testing, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues and provide ongoing support.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging API technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and strategic planning for API development.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, C#).
- Extensive experience with RESTful API design, development, and integration.
- Solid understanding of API security principles (OAuth2, JWT, API Keys).
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL).
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Proficiency in writing unit and integration tests for APIs.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and serverless architectures.
