Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure RESTful APIs using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and API designs.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests.
- Implement comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure API reliability and correctness.
- Perform code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to best practices, and architectural standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in existing APIs, ensuring optimal performance and stability.
- Optimize APIs for maximum speed and scalability, utilizing caching strategies and efficient database queries.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging API technologies, trends, and best practices, proposing and implementing improvements.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the overall technical strategy for our backend services.
- Ensure API security best practices are followed, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, C#, Go).
- Extensive experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, including understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, and API versioning.
- Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL) and experience with ORM frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment.
