As an Approved Electrician within our network, you will be responsible for a wide range of electrical tasks, from complex installations in commercial and industrial settings to routine maintenance and fault finding in residential properties. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs across domestic, commercial, and industrial environments.
  • Efficiently diagnose and rectify complex electrical faults, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and periodic inspections, providing accurate assessments and recommendations.
  • Rigorously adhere to the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and all relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Manage project timelines, material procurement, and documentation effectively, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide clear, professional communication with clients, explaining technical issues and solutions in an understandable manner.
  • Supervise and mentor junior electricians or apprentices when required, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, reflecting positively on our professional reputation.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including test results, materials used, and hours worked.

Required Skills

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent qualification.
  • City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations) certification.
  • Demonstrable experience as an Approved Electrician for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with a clean record.
  • Exceptional diagnostic, fault-finding, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of relevant British Standards and codes of practice.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client service skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage workloads effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection and Testing) or equivalent.
  • Experience with specialist systems such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, CCTV, or access control.
  • IPAF or PASMA certification for working at height.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Experience in smart home technology installations.
