Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a passionate and driven A&R Representative with a keen ear for emerging talent and a deep understanding of the contemporary music landscape. This pivotal role involves actively scouting, evaluating, and signing artists who possess unique sound, charisma, and commercial potential. You will be instrumental in identifying trends, attending live performances, building relationships within the music community, and ultimately bringing exceptional artists into our fold. Beyond scouting, this role requires a strategic mind to collaborate closely with artists on their creative development, from song selection and production to branding and marketing strategies. You will work cross-functionally with our marketing, legal, and production teams to ensure our artists receive comprehensive support and guidance throughout their journey. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively scout, identify, and evaluate new artists, songwriters, and producers through various channels, including live shows, digital platforms, and industry referrals.
  • Build and maintain a robust network of industry contacts, including managers, producers, agents, and other A&R professionals.
  • Attend showcases, concerts, and industry events to discover and assess potential talent.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with signed artists, acting as a primary point of contact for their creative and career development.
  • Provide creative feedback and guidance on song selection, production, and overall artistic direction.
  • Negotiate and finalize recording and publishing deals, ensuring favorable terms for both artists and the company.
  • Collaborate with legal, marketing, and production teams to strategize artist releases and promotional campaigns.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscapes, and technological advancements to inform A&R strategy.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on scouting activities, artist evaluations, and market analysis.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in A&R, talent scouting, or artist management within the music industry.
  • Demonstrable track record of identifying and signing successful artists.
  • Exceptional ear for music and a profound understanding of diverse genres and industry trends.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of music publishing, copyright, and licensing.
  • Proficiency in music industry software and digital platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Entertainment Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with music production software (e.g., Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools).
  • Multilingual abilities, particularly beneficial for diverse talent pools.
  • Established relationships with artists, producers, and managers in the Shirley Hills/Warner Robins area.
