Key Responsibilities
- Actively scout for new and emerging musical talent across various genres within the local Regensburg scene and wider regional areas.
- Attend live shows, open mic nights, festivals, and industry events to discover artists and network with industry professionals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with artists, producers, managers, promoters, and other key figures in the music community.
- Evaluate demo submissions, online portfolios, and social media presence of potential artists with a critical ear and market insight.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on artists, assessing their musicality, market potential, audience engagement, and overall brand.
- Prepare detailed reports and engaging presentations on potential signings for internal review by the A&R team and management.
- Monitor current music trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform scouting strategies and identify opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, legal, and production teams to facilitate the artist signing and development process.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Career.zycto, representing our commitment to artistic integrity and innovation in the music landscape.
- Provide initial guidance and constructive feedback to artists, helping to refine their sound and artistic vision.
Required Skills
- Proven track record (minimum 2 years) in music scouting, talent acquisition, or a related role within the music industry.
- Deep, comprehensive knowledge of various music genres, current trends, and emerging artists.
- Exceptional networking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
- Strong analytical and critical listening abilities to assess musical quality and commercial viability.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for reports, presentations, and artist interaction.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Proficient in using digital platforms for talent discovery (e.g., SoundCloud, Bandcamp, TikTok, Instagram).
- Ability to travel frequently to attend events and meet artists.
- Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Arts Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Existing network of contacts within the German music industry, particularly in Bavaria.
- Experience with artist development or project management within a record label or talent agency.
- Basic understanding of music licensing, publishing, and contractual agreements.
- Proficiency in CRM software or talent management platforms.
