Job Description

Cushing Terrell is excited to launch our International Hiring Scheme, inviting talented and ambitious Architects from around the globe to bring their unique expertise and fresh perspectives to our Billings, Montana office. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Architect to join our dynamic team, contributing to a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from commercial and healthcare to educational and civic developments. You will play a pivotal role in leading design concepts from ideation through construction documentation, ensuring projects meet the highest standards of aesthetic appeal, functionality, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage architectural design projects from initial concept development through construction administration.
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including engineers, interior designers, and landscape architects.
  • Develop detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents using advanced BIM software.
  • Present design concepts and solutions to clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring project goals are met.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and zoning ordinances.
  • Mentor and guide junior architects and design staff, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Integrate sustainable design principles and practices into all projects.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Contribute to the firm's ongoing pursuit of design innovation and technical excellence.

Required Skills

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive architectural experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design software.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design capabilities and technical proficiency.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building codes, construction methods, and material selection.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Architectural licensure/registration in your country of origin, with a clear path to NCARB certification in the U.S.
  • LEED AP or similar sustainability accreditation.
  • Experience with international project collaborations or diverse cultural design contexts.
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Experience in specific sectors such as healthcare, education, or commercial design.
