Job Description
We are seeking a visionary and creative Part-Time Art Director with flexible hours to join our dynamic team in Bindura, Mashonaland Central Province. As our Art Director, you will be instrumental in shaping the visual identity and aesthetic direction of various projects, from local advertisements and promotional materials to digital content and editorial layouts. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strong visual concepts, designs, and layouts for print, digital, and broadcast materials, including advertisements, editorial pages, web graphics, and social media content.
- Ensure all creative outputs adhere strictly to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity across all Zimpapers platforms and client projects.
- Direct and oversee the design process from concept to completion, providing clear creative direction and constructive feedback to design team members or external collaborators.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, editorial, sales, and production teams to understand project requirements, objectives, and deadlines.
- Present design concepts to internal stakeholders and clients, effectively communicating the creative vision and rationale.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, design software, and visual communication best practices to continually innovate and elevate our creative standards.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
- Mentor junior designers or graphic artists, fostering a culture of creativity, growth, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Art Director or Senior Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of creative projects.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).
- Exceptional understanding of typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.
- Strong conceptual thinking and ability to translate complex ideas into compelling visual stories.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.
