Triton Minerals Ltd., deeply committed to supporting the vibrant cultural heritage of the Ancuabe region, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Art Gallery Aide to join our team. This unique role, situated within our community cultural outreach program, offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the promotion of local Mozambican artistry and cultural understanding. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist all visitors to the exhibition space, providing information about displayed artworks and local cultural context.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal of the gallery space, including display adjustments as needed.
- Assist with the handling and preparation of artworks and cultural artifacts for display, ensuring their safety and proper presentation.
- Process visitor inquiries, providing accurate information about the exhibits, local artists, and community programs.
- Support gallery events, workshops, and educational activities, including setup, registration, and visitor assistance.
- Help manage inventory of informational brochures, art catalogs, and promotional materials.
- Perform light administrative duties, such as maintaining visitor logs and assisting with data entry related to gallery activities.
- Ensure all visitors adhere to gallery guidelines to maintain a respectful and safe environment.
- Collaborate with community engagement teams to enhance visitor experience and cultural programming.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) in Portuguese; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Makhuwa, Mwani) is a significant advantage.
- A genuine interest in art, culture, and community engagement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible with a strong work ethic.
- Basic computer literacy for administrative tasks.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift light objects (up to 10 kg).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a gallery/museum setting.
- Familiarity with Mozambican art, crafts, and cultural history, especially from the Cabo Delgado Province.
- Experience in organizing or assisting with community events.
- A diploma or certificate in a relevant field such as cultural studies, tourism, or art appreciation.
