Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Audit Assistant to join our dynamic team in Samburu County. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of audit engagements under the supervision of senior auditors.
- Prepare audit working papers and documentation in accordance with professional standards and firm policies.
- Perform substantive testing and tests of controls on various financial statement accounts.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of financial data and transactions.
- Identify and document internal control weaknesses and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct research on accounting and auditing issues as required.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and clarify queries.
- Participate in client meetings and fieldwork as directed.
- Contribute to the preparation of audit reports and management letters.
- Adhere strictly to professional ethics and confidentiality principles.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and ISAs (International Standards on Auditing).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA (K) certification or progress towards it.
- Prior experience (internship or junior role) in an audit firm or accounting department.
- Familiarity with audit software and accounting systems.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations in Kenya.
- Ability to speak local languages common in Samburu County is a plus.
