As a Shipper Receiver, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that underpin our logistical success. This includes diligently receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and meticulously recording all relevant data. You’ll become adept at identifying discrepancies, managing inventory, and ensuring that goods are stored safely and efficiently. Furthermore, you will play a key role in preparing outgoing shipments, selecting appropriate packaging, labelling accurately, and arranging for timely transportation. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Document and report any discrepancies, damages, or missing items promptly.
- Accurately sort, label, and store received goods in designated locations within the warehouse.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, wrapping, and loading goods according to established procedures.
- Generate shipping labels, manifests, and other necessary documentation for dispatch.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock counts and data entry.
- Ensure the warehouse area is kept clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to optimise workflow and resolve issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Shipper Receiver, Warehouse Associate, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, shipping, and receiving procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25kg) and perform physical tasks as required.
- Proficiency in using inventory management systems and basic computer applications.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
- Experience with ERP systems for inventory tracking.
- Knowledge of various shipping carriers and their requirements.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Math.
- A valid UK driving license.
