Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Auditor to join our dynamic team in Falmouth, Trelawny. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a proven track record in audit to contribute to our esteemed client portfolio, which spans various industries within the region and across Jamaica. As an experienced Auditor, you will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and finalizing audit engagements, ensuring compliance with international auditing standards and local regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute audit engagements in accordance with international auditing standards (ISAs) and local regulatory requirements.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop audit strategies to address identified risks effectively.
  • Evaluate internal control systems and identify control weaknesses, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead and supervise junior audit staff, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit working papers, ensuring proper documentation and evidence.
  • Draft clear, concise, and insightful audit reports for review by engagement partners.
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by understanding their business and addressing their needs.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, auditing regulations, and industry trends.
  • Ensure timely completion of audit engagements within budget.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and processes.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive audit experience, preferably within a public accounting firm.
  • Proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting designation.
  • Experience with audit software (e.g., Caseware, AuditCommand Language (ACL)).
  • Experience auditing clients in various industries.
  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
