Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Auditor to join our dynamic team in Falmouth, Trelawny. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute audit engagements in accordance with international auditing standards (ISAs) and local regulatory requirements.
- Perform risk assessments and develop audit strategies to address identified risks effectively.
- Evaluate internal control systems and identify control weaknesses, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Lead and supervise junior audit staff, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Prepare comprehensive audit working papers, ensuring proper documentation and evidence.
- Draft clear, concise, and insightful audit reports for review by engagement partners.
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients in a professional and constructive manner.
- Maintain strong client relationships by understanding their business and addressing their needs.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards, auditing regulations, and industry trends.
- Ensure timely completion of audit engagements within budget.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and processes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive audit experience, preferably within a public accounting firm.
- Proficiency in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
- High level of integrity and professional ethics.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting designation.
- Experience with audit software (e.g., Caseware, AuditCommand Language (ACL)).
- Experience auditing clients in various industries.
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
