Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload luggage, cargo, and mail onto and off aircraft, baggage carts, and conveyor belts.
- Operate various ground support equipment, including tugs, belt loaders, and forklifts (training provided).
- Transport baggage between aircraft, terminal buildings, and baggage claim areas.
- Sort and route baggage according to flight numbers and destination codes.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and airport security procedures.
- Perform visual inspections of equipment for damage or operational issues and report any deficiencies.
- Work collaboratively with airline staff, ramp agents, and other team members to ensure on-time departures and arrivals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the baggage handling areas.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy luggage (up to 70 pounds) frequently and for extended periods.
- Capacity to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Reliability and punctuality are paramount.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
