Career.zycto is seeking dedicated and reliable Baggage Handlers to join our operational team in Trenton, New Glasgow. This is a full-time, on-site position for individuals who are physically capable, safety-conscious, and committed to providing excellent service. As a Baggage Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of luggage, cargo, and other items. Your work is essential to the smooth operation of our services, directly impacting traveler satisfaction and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting baggage with precision and care, often working as part of a close-knit team in a dynamic environment. This role demands attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to operate various equipment while strictly adhering to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail onto and from aircraft, baggage carts, and conveyor belts.
- Operate ground support equipment such as tugs, baggage carts, and conveyor belt loaders in a safe and responsible manner.
- Sort and transfer baggage to correct destinations, ensuring timely delivery and proper handling.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and security procedures at all times.
- Perform routine checks and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and other operational staff to ensure smooth workflow and on-time departures/arrivals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on the ramp and in baggage handling facilities.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs consistently) and perform physical tasks repeatedly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain required airport security clearance and passes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role (e.g., warehouse, construction, logistics).
- Familiarity with ground support equipment operation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
