Job Description

Are you a passionate and skilled Baker with a flair for both rustic breads and delicate pastries? Super U Hypermarket in Curepipe is seeking a dedicated and creative Baker to join our dynamic and bustling in-store bakery team. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, mix, knead, shape, and bake various types of bread, including traditional loaves, rolls, and specialty breads.
  • Produce a wide range of pastries, cakes, tarts, and other confectioneries following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain bakery equipment, including ovens, mixers, and proofers, safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor baking processes to ensure products are baked to perfection and meet quality, freshness, and appearance standards.
  • Decorate and finish baked goods with precision and creativity.
  • Manage inventory of baking ingredients, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist with receiving and storing raw materials.
  • Contribute to the development of new recipes and innovative bakery products.
  • Work collaboratively with the bakery team to meet daily production targets and ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain an attractive and well-stocked display of baked goods for customers.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Baker, specializing in both bread and pastry production.
  • Strong understanding of baking principles, techniques, and ingredient functions.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for creating high-quality products.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy bags of ingredients.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
