Job Description

As a Bank Teller, you will be the face of Access Bank, playing a crucial role in providing outstanding service to our valued customers. You will be responsible for handling a variety of customer transactions with accuracy and efficiency, including deposits, withdrawals, cashing checks, and processing loan payments. Beyond transactions, your role will involve building positive customer relationships, identifying opportunities to offer additional bank products and services, and resolving customer inquiries with a friendly and helpful demeanor. Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and transfers.
  • Verify customer identities, check for transaction legitimacy, and adhere strictly to all bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Balance cash drawer daily by counting currency, reconciling discrepancies, and preparing daily transaction reports.
  • Assist customers with account inquiries, resolve issues, and provide information on bank products and services.
  • Identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate bank products such as savings accounts, loans, and digital banking solutions.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding customer accounts and transactions.
  • Ensure the teller station is well-organized, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Collaborate with other branch staff to achieve customer satisfaction and branch goals.
  • Adhere to all security procedures and assist in maintaining a secure banking environment.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of an OND/HND/B.Sc. in any discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Proven customer service skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within a service industry.
  • Experience handling cash and performing basic accounting tasks.
  • Familiarity with banking software or financial transaction systems.
  • Knowledge of Access Bank's products and services.
