As a Bank Teller, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients, executing a wide array of transactions with precision and professionalism. Your daily activities will involve handling deposits, withdrawals, cashing checks, processing loan payments, and assisting customers with account inquiries. Beyond transactional duties, you will be instrumental in identifying customer needs, cross-selling appropriate bank products and services, and educating clients on the benefits of our digital banking solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and check cashing.
  • Handle cash and negotiable instruments with precision, ensuring accurate balancing of the till at the end of each shift.
  • Identify customer needs and cross-sell appropriate bank products and services, referring complex inquiries to specialized personnel.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and building strong, positive relationships.
  • Educate customers on various banking services, including digital banking platforms and ATM functionalities.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Safeguard customer information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Process loan payments, assist with account openings, and update customer records.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with colleagues and supporting branch objectives.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as needed to ensure smooth branch operations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a cash-handling or customer service role, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve customer inquiries effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with banking software and systems.
  • Experience with cross-selling financial products and services.
  • Knowledge of local banking regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to speak local languages in addition to English and Swahili.
