Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel and strategic advice to senior management on a wide range of legal matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, agreements, policies, and internal guidelines.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to anticipate and mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with Canadian laws and regulations.
- Support litigation processes, including preparing legal arguments, managing discovery, and liaising with external counsel as required.
- Represent the company's interests in negotiations, mediations, and other dispute resolution processes.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory environments relevant to Career.zycto's operations and advise on necessary adjustments.
- Develop and deliver legal training to internal teams to enhance legal awareness and compliance.
- Contribute to the development of internal legal strategies and best practices.
- Manage and maintain accurate legal records and documentation.
Required Skills
- Called to the Bar in a common law jurisdiction, with eligibility for immediate call to the Bar in Manitoba, Canada.
- Minimum of 4 years of post-call experience as a practicing Barrister or equivalent legal professional.
- Demonstrated expertise in Canadian common law, with a strong understanding of commercial, corporate, and regulatory law.
- Exceptional advocacy, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills.
- Superior legal research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly.
- High degree of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
