Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and customer-focused Bartender to join our dynamic Food & Beverage team for night shifts. You will be responsible for crafting a wide array of beverages, from classic cocktails to bespoke creations, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation. This role requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, to accommodate the dynamic nature of our luxury hotel operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wines, beers, and spirits, following standard recipes and hotel guidelines.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner, providing recommendations and ensuring a positive bar experience.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, garnishes, and inventory.
  • Accurately process cash and credit card transactions, managing the till and ensuring proper reconciliation at the end of the shift.
  • Monitor inventory levels, report shortages, and assist with ordering and receiving bar supplies.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, as well as local licensing laws regarding alcohol service.
  • Collaborate effectively with other F&B team members, including servers and kitchen staff, to ensure seamless service.
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and efficiency, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Contribute to creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, upholding the hotel's brand standards and service philosophy.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Bartender, preferably in a hotel or high-volume restaurant setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of cocktail recipes, spirits, wines, and beers.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and active listening.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations and cash handling.
  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and local regulations.
  • High level of professionalism and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Hospitality, Mixology, or Food & Beverage service.
  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., French, Swahili) is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
  • Demonstrated creativity in developing new drink recipes.
