Job Description

G4S Botswana is seeking an exceptionally skilled and highly experienced Bodyguard for Executive Protection services based in Palapye, Central District. This is a critical role for individuals with a proven track record in safeguarding high-profile individuals, ensuring their personal security, and maintaining a secure environment in diverse and dynamic settings. As an Executive Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for providing discreet, professional, and proactive close protection services, operating with the highest level of confidentiality and situational awareness. This role demands an individual who possesses not only advanced tactical skills but also superior judgment, communication, and problem-solving abilities. You will be expected to conduct comprehensive threat assessments, develop detailed security plans, and execute protective measures with precision, often involving extensive travel within Botswana and potentially internationally to fulfill client needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide close protection to assigned principals, ensuring their safety and security at all times, in various environments.
  • Conduct comprehensive advance work, route reconnaissance, and threat assessments for all planned movements and locations.
  • Develop and implement detailed security plans, routes, and contingency procedures to mitigate potential risks.
  • Perform defensive driving and evasive maneuvers as required during transit, maintaining a secure driving environment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion regarding all client information, schedules, and activities.
  • Continuously monitor surroundings for potential threats, suspicious activities, or persons, and take appropriate proactive or reactive action.
  • Liaise effectively and professionally with local law enforcement, security personnel, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage access control and perimeter security for principals' residences, offices, and temporary locations.
  • Conduct security briefings and offer informed advice to principals on personal safety protocols and situational awareness.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain assigned protective equipment, vehicles, and communication devices.
  • Complete detailed reports on security incidents, observations, and daily activities with precision and accuracy.
  • Respond effectively and decisively to emergencies, including medical incidents, providing immediate first aid if necessary.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in executive protection, close protection, or a similar high-stakes security role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in defensive driving, evasive maneuvering, and secure transportation techniques.
  • Advanced first aid and CPR certification (e.g., Level 3 First Aid or equivalent from a recognized provider).
  • Expertise in threat assessment, risk analysis, and protective intelligence gathering.
  • Strong observational skills, exceptional situational awareness, and quick decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills for managing complex interactions.
  • Ability to operate discreetly, maintain a low profile, and integrate seamlessly into diverse client environments.
  • Proficient in self-defense and unarmed combat techniques for personal protection.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and experience navigating diverse terrains.
  • High level of physical fitness, stamina, and mental fortitude to perform demanding duties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Former military special operations, law enforcement (police or intelligence), or government protective services experience.
  • Recognized Executive Protection certification from an accredited institution (e.g., EPS, PSD training certificate).
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to regional travel (e.g., Setswana, Afrikaans, Kalanga).
  • Experience with secure communications systems and surveillance countermeasures.
  • Advanced tactical firearm proficiency and relevant licenses (if applicable and legally permitted in Botswana).
  • Crisis management and emergency response training certification.
