Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time Boilermaker to join our dynamic team for immediate hire in Arvada, Colorado. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to apply their specialized craft in constructing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, and other heavy metal structures. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
- Lay out, cut, fit, and weld metal components to assemble structural framework and internal parts of boilers and other vessels.
- Perform various welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys.
- Inspect and repair boilers, pressure vessels, and tanks to ensure compliance with safety codes and operational standards.
- Operate rigging equipment, hoists, and other heavy machinery to lift and position components.
- Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic tests on completed units to check for leaks and structural integrity.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all company and OSHA safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues related to boiler systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other tradespersons to ensure project completion.
- Document work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
Required Skills
- Certified Journeyman Boilermaker or equivalent.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Expertise in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding techniques.
- Experience with metal fabrication tools and machinery (e.g., shears, brakes, grinders).
- Strong understanding of rigging and hoisting safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in confined spaces and at heights.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety procedures and practices.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in demanding conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or vocational training in welding, fabrication, or a related field.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
- Previous experience in power generation, chemical, or refinery industries.
- Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes.
