Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and professional Box Truck Driver for our local operations team in West Hartford, CT. This is a full-time opportunity for an individual who prides themselves on safe driving, timely deliveries, and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a box truck safely and efficiently on local routes, delivering goods to various customer locations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of products, verifying order contents and obtaining appropriate signatures.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, manifest, and other required paperwork.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Assist with loading and unloading of cargo as needed, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route progress, delays, or issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the vehicle.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS and local knowledge.
Required Skills
- Valid Driver's License (Class D or higher, non-CDL box truck operation)
- Clean driving record (Motor Vehicle Report) for at least the past three years
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs consistently
- Proficient in navigating local roads and using GPS devices
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience (1+ year) as a delivery driver or box truck operator
- Familiarity with West Hartford and surrounding Connecticut areas
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) or route optimization software
