Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Broadcast Support Assistant to join a dynamic media operations team located in the bustling Khalifa Port Area of Abu Dhabi. This full-time position is ideal for an individual passionate about media technology, eager to provide crucial front-line support for complex broadcast systems, ensuring seamless operation and high-quality output. As a Broadcast Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily functionality of our broadcast infrastructure, assisting with troubleshooting, maintenance, and setup of various audio-visual equipment and software. Your meticulous attention to detail and ability to respond swiftly to technical challenges will be paramount in minimizing downtime and upholding broadcast integrity. This role demands a proactive approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong foundational understanding of broadcast signal flows and digital media workflows. You will collaborate closely with engineers, producers, and operational staff, serving as a critical link in the content delivery chain. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line technical support for all broadcast equipment, including cameras, mixers, encoders, decoders, and associated software.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance checks and ensure all systems are operating optimally.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software malfunctions efficiently to minimize broadcast interruptions.
  • Assist with the installation, setup, and calibration of new broadcast equipment and system upgrades.
  • Monitor live and recorded broadcast feeds for technical quality, ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Document all support activities, equipment configurations, and problem resolutions accurately in the designated tracking system.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, production, and IT teams to resolve complex technical issues and support live events.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of spare parts and consumables, reporting any shortages.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in broadcast or media technology support.
  • Strong technical understanding of audio and video signal flows, formats, and compression standards.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting various broadcast hardware and software components.
  • Familiarity with IT networking principles as they apply to broadcast systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications
