Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain broadcast equipment including cameras, switchers, audio mixers, encoders, and transmission systems.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all broadcast hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with broadcast systems during live productions, recordings, and post-production.
- Provide technical support to producers, directors, and on-air talent for various productions and live events.
- Monitor signal quality and compliance with broadcasting standards.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of equipment for field productions and remote broadcasts.
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment inventory, maintenance logs, and technical procedures.
- Stay informed about new broadcast technologies and recommend upgrades or improvements.
- Calibrate and align audio and video equipment for optimal performance and quality.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Broadcast Technician or similar role.
- Strong understanding of broadcast signal flow, video formats, and audio principles.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing broadcast equipment at a component level.
- Experience with various broadcast systems, including SDI, IP-based video, and streaming technologies.
- Familiarity with test equipment such as waveform monitors, vectorscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in live environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
