As a Building Security Officer, you will be the first line of defence, responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall security posture of our facilities. Your day-to-day will involve monitoring surveillance equipment, patrolling designated areas, controlling access points, and responding to incidents promptly and professionally. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, demonstrates sound judgment under pressure, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the building and premises to deter and detect signs of intrusion, vandalism, or other security breaches.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and other surveillance equipment to identify and respond to suspicious activities or potential threats.
- Control access points, verifying identification, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate logs of all persons entering and exiting the facility.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, emergencies (e.g., fire, medical, security incidents), and disturbances.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, documenting observations, activities, and occurrences during your shift.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Provide assistance and information to staff and visitors in a polite and professional manner.
- Conduct routine checks on safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and lighting.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Participate in all required training and professional development programs.
