Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models from initial sketches, specifications, and calculations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand project requirements and design intent.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, building codes, and client specifications.
  • Perform design reviews and make necessary revisions to drawings based on feedback.
  • Manage and maintain CAD drawing databases and project documentation.
  • Assist in preparing Bill of Materials (BOMs) and other project-related reports.
  • Conduct clash detection and resolve design conflicts using advanced CAD tools.
  • Continuously update skills and knowledge of new CAD software features and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or MicroStation.
  • Strong understanding of drafting principles and engineering drawing standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) processes.
  • Familiarity with local Toronto building codes and regulations.
  • Portfolio demonstrating previous CAD work on relevant projects.
  • Experience with 3D rendering and visualization tools.
