Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring client dignity and privacy.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, utilising appropriate equipment and techniques safely.
  • Support clients with medication management as per prescribed care plans and training.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, accommodating specific dietary requirements.
  • Engage clients in stimulating social activities, conversation, and companionship.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed care records, documenting observations and interventions.
  • Report any changes in client condition or concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Promote independence and personal choice in all aspects of daily living for clients.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluent English.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a dedicated team.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety procedures and infection control.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to duty.
  • Ability to understand and follow care plans accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or an equivalent qualification).
  • Previous experience in a care setting, particularly with elderly or vulnerable adults.
  • Experience working with individuals with dementia or challenging behaviours.
