Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter Journeyman specializing in Framing to join our dynamic team for various projects across Downtown, Dearborn Heights. This is a full-time, on-site position where your expertise will be critical in constructing the foundational structural elements of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. As a Journeyman Framer, you will play a pivotal role in interpreting blueprints, laying out building lines, measuring and cutting lumber, and assembling frameworks for walls, roofs, and floors. We are looking for an individual with a strong commitment to safety, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality carpentry work on schedule. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in various framing techniques, be proficient with hand and power tools, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a crew. You will be instrumental in ensuring structural integrity and precision, translating architectural designs into tangible, robust structures. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
- Erect and install framing for buildings, including walls, floors, roofs, and other structural components.
- Inspect and repair building frameworks and other wooden structures.
- Layout and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials according to drawings or templates.
- Operate power saws, hammers, drills, and other carpentry tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work adheres to local building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including apprentices, laborers, and site supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
Required Skills
- Journeyman Carpenter certification or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience in structural framing.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents.
- Expertise in operating all standard carpentry hand and power tools.
- Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
- Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with advanced framing techniques.
