Job Description

MTN Rwanda is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cashier to join our vibrant team at our retail outlet in Gatsibo, Eastern Province. In this essential role, you will be the face of MTN, providing exceptional service to our valued customers, processing transactions accurately, and ensuring a smooth and efficient shopping experience. As a Cashier, you will handle cash, credit, and mobile money transactions, manage customer inquiries, and maintain a clean and organized workstation. Key Responsibilities

  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Handle cash, credit card, and mobile money payments, ensuring correct change and transaction recording.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering inquiries and assisting with product and service information.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area.
  • Reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring accuracy.
  • Resolve customer complaints or escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and customer service.
  • Assist with inventory checks and restocking shelves when required.
  • Promote special offers, new products, and services to customers.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in customer service or a public-facing role.
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage flexible shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in a retail environment (6+ months).
  • Familiarity with telecommunications products and services.
  • Proficiency in Kinyarwanda and English; knowledge of French is a plus.
