Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Catalog Manager to join our dynamic team in Chicago, IL. In this pivotal role, you will be the guardian of our product catalog’s integrity, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all platforms. The Catalog Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of product data, from initial onboarding and categorization to ongoing maintenance and optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, product development, and IT to ensure that product information is presented effectively and efficiently to our target audiences.
This position requires a blend of analytical prowess, technical aptitude, and strong communication skills. You will develop and implement best practices for data entry, quality control, and data governance, playing a critical role in enhancing the customer experience and supporting sales initiatives. Your ability to identify discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable solutions will be key to your success. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and optimization of product catalogs across all relevant platforms (e-commerce, internal systems, etc.).
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness for all product attributes, including descriptions, specifications, imagery, pricing, and categorization.
- Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to maintain high-quality product information.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, product, and IT teams to gather and integrate new product information and updates.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies, incomplete information, or inconsistencies within the product catalog.
- Manage product lifecycle data, including new product introductions, updates to existing products, and end-of-life processes.
- Implement and manage product categorization structures to improve discoverability and user experience.
- Utilize PIM systems and other data management tools to streamline catalog management processes.
- Monitor competitor catalogs and industry best practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Generate reports on catalog performance, data quality metrics, and provide insights for strategic decisions.
- Train and support internal teams on catalog management processes and best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in catalog management, data management, or e-commerce operations.
- Strong understanding of product information management (PIM) systems and master data management (MDM) principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Excel, SQL basics).
- Demonstrated ability to manage large datasets and complex product hierarchies.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
