Job Description

Avani Lesotho Hotel & Casino is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Helper to join our dynamic Food & Beverage team. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients under supervision.
  • Set up dining areas, buffet lines, and event spaces with tables, chairs, cutlery, glassware, and decorations.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests during events, ensuring professional and courteous service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in kitchen areas, serving stations, and dining rooms.
  • Operate and clean dishwashing machines, wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Restock supplies for serving areas, including plates, napkins, condiments, and beverages.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of catering equipment and supplies for off-site events.
  • Support the catering team and other F&B staff with various duties as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
  • Good physical stamina, capable of standing for long periods, lifting moderately heavy items, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (even informal) in a kitchen, catering, or hospitality environment.
