Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor CCTV cameras and associated equipment to detect and report any unusual or suspicious activities.
- Respond effectively to alarms and alerts, assessing situations and escalating to appropriate personnel or emergency services as required.
- Maintain detailed and accurate logs of all incidents, observations, and actions taken.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with security personnel, management, and external agencies during incidents.
- Conduct regular equipment checks and report any faults or malfunctions promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all data protection, privacy, and security protocols and regulations.
- Assist in providing recorded footage for investigations, ensuring proper chain of custody and legal compliance.
- Contribute to maintaining a secure and safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in operating CCTV systems and monitoring equipment.
- Excellent observational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods and respond quickly to events.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) CCTV Operator licence or willingness to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a security control room or similar environment.
- Knowledge of relevant UK security legislation and best practices.
- Proficiency in additional languages is a plus, though not required.
- Basic first aid certification.
