Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly vigilant and professional CCTV Operator to join our dynamic team in Cove Bay, Aberdeen. This crucial full-time role involves continuous monitoring of surveillance systems across various locations, ensuring the safety and security of our premises, assets, and personnel. As a CCTV Operator, you will be the eyes and ears of our security operations, tasked with identifying and reporting suspicious activities, potential breaches, and emergency situations with utmost precision and promptness. Your ability to maintain focus, analyze situations quickly, and communicate effectively will be paramount to your success and our collective security. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent observational skills, and the capacity to work independently within a structured environment. You will play a vital role in crime prevention, incident detection, and providing critical support to emergency services and on-site security teams when required. The work schedule will involve rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor CCTV cameras and associated equipment to detect and deter criminal activity, unauthorized access, and other security breaches.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incidents, observations, and actions taken, including detailed written reports and evidence logs.
  • Communicate effectively with security personnel, emergency services, and management during incidents.
  • Conduct regular checks of CCTV system functionality, reporting any faults or issues immediately.
  • Assist in the compilation of evidential footage for internal investigations or external law enforcement requests.
  • Adhere strictly to data protection and privacy regulations when handling sensitive information and footage.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless operational coverage and effective information sharing.
  • Undertake regular training to stay updated with the latest security technologies and best practices.
  • Perform other security-related duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a CCTV Operator or in a similar security role (minimum 1 year).
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using CCTV monitoring software and security systems.
  • Good understanding of security protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and system navigation.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Demonstrable integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SIA (Security Industry Authority) CCTV Public Space Surveillance License.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience with advanced access control systems.
  • Knowledge of local security regulations and best practices in Aberdeen.
  • Previous experience in a control room environment.
