Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Concrete Finisher for a full-time, on-site position in Tsawwassen, Delta. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team working on essential infrastructure and commercial projects within the Lower Mainland. As a Concrete Finisher, you will be instrumental in laying the groundwork for new developments, ensuring that all concrete surfaces are prepared, poured, and finished to the highest standards of quality and durability.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, pour, and finish concrete surfaces including floors, walls, sidewalks, curbs, and other structural components.
- Operate power trowels, hand trowels, screeds, floats, and other concrete finishing tools and equipment.
- Monitor concrete curing processes and apply curing compounds as necessary.
- Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials for proper installation and alignment.
- Clean and prepare surfaces for concrete application, including removing debris and ensuring proper grades.
- Repair and restore damaged concrete surfaces using appropriate methods and materials.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and quality control standards on site.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople, supervisors, and project managers to ensure timely project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher.
- Proficiency in operating various concrete finishing tools and equipment.
- Strong understanding of concrete properties, mixes, and curing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal endorsement for Concrete Finisher or equivalent certification.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with specialized concrete finishes (e.g., stamped, exposed aggregate).
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in British Columbia.
- Ability to mentor junior team members.
