Career.zycto is immediately hiring for a vigilant and dedicated Night Shift Security Guard to protect our client’s premises located in Cardiff, Wales. This critical role involves maintaining a safe and secure environment during overnight hours, often operating independently but with the full backing of our professional support team. As a Night Shift Security Guard, you will be the first line of defense, responsible for deterring illegal activities, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the protection of assets and personnel. This position demands a keen eye for detail, strong observational skills, and the ability to react calmly and effectively under pressure. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining peace of mind for our clients, performing regular patrols, monitoring CCTV systems, and controlling access points. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, thorough patrols of the assigned premises during night hours.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras, to detect and prevent unauthorized entry or suspicious activity.
- Control access to buildings, allowing entry only to authorized personnel and visitors.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations.
- Write comprehensive and accurate reports on observations, incidents, and activities during the shift.
- Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensure a sense of security.
- Enforce property rules and regulations consistently and professionally.
- Cooperate with law enforcement and emergency services in the event of an incident.
- Conduct daily checks of security systems and equipment to ensure functionality.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to staff, visitors, and clients as required.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) License – Door Supervisor or Security Guarding.
- Proven experience in a security role, preferably in a night shift capacity.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to write clear and concise reports.
- Physical fitness to perform regular patrols and stand for extended periods.
- Basic IT literacy for operating surveillance equipment and reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work certification.
- CCTV Operator license.
