Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle on regional routes.
- Transport goods to and from specified locations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting any issues.
- Ensure accurate completion of all required paperwork, including logs, manifests, and delivery receipts.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the vehicle, representing the company positively.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding deliveries and potential delays.
- Manage loading and unloading processes as required, ensuring cargo is secured properly.
- Handle unforeseen road conditions, traffic, and weather events professionally and safely.
Required Skills
- Valid CDL Class A driver's license with no restrictions.
- Minimum 2 years (24 months) of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, comprehensive drug screen, and background check.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and Hours of Service (HOS) compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with dispatch and clients.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other in-cab technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific freight types (e.g., dry van, reefer, flatbed).
- Familiarity with regional routes in Colorado and surrounding states.
- HazMat and/or Tanker endorsements (not strictly required, but a significant plus).
- Proficiency with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software.
