As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will be a vital part of the healthcare team, working under the supervision of licensed nurses to deliver personalized and respectful care. This position demands excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as you will be interacting constantly with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) accurately and report any changes.
- Document patient care observations, interventions, and outcomes in a timely and thorough manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, ensuring comfort and dignity.
- Assist with patient transfers and repositioning to prevent complications.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Report any changes in patient condition, behavior, or complaints to the supervising nurse promptly.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a compassionate atmosphere.
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and patient care standards.
Required Skills
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Alabama.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong observational and reporting skills.
- Physical ability to perform required tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in an acute care, long-term care, or assisted living facility.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
