Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising campaigns, events, and community outreach activities.
- Conduct thorough research on potential individual donors, corporate partners, and grant opportunities to diversify and expand Oxfam's funding base.
- Prepare compelling fundraising materials, presentations, proposals, and communication pieces, ensuring strict adherence to Oxfam's brand guidelines and messaging.
- Maintain and accurately update donor databases (CRM systems), ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of all donor information.
- Process donations efficiently, issue timely acknowledgment letters, and assist with donor stewardship activities to cultivate strong, long-term relationships.
- Support the development of comprehensive project proposals and reports for funders, meticulously compiling necessary data, narratives, and impact stories.
- Respond promptly and professionally to donor inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing exceptional customer service and information.
- Collaborate effectively with marketing and communications teams to strategically promote fundraising initiatives through various digital and traditional channels.
- Actively participate in community engagement events, representing Oxfam positively and engaging new supporters and volunteers.
- Perform essential general administrative duties to support the efficient functioning of the fundraising department, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and organizing files.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for administrative and presentation tasks.

- Prior volunteer experience or internship in a non-profit organization, charity, or community development setting.
- Familiarity with CRM software or donor database management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge).
- Ability to communicate in local Shumba languages (e.g., Swahili, Chewa, other regional dialects) to effectively engage with local communities.
- Experience with event planning, coordination, or project management in any capacity.
