Job Description
Are you passionate about food and eager to kickstart your culinary career? Kangagani Beach Hotel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry Level Chef Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience to learn the fundamentals of professional kitchen operations from experienced chefs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our kitchen, assisting with food preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting our culinary vision. Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment by regularly cleaning workstations, equipment, utensils, and dishes.
- Support the culinary team during service by ensuring ingredients are readily available and prepared according to specifications.
- Receive, store, and organize kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring proper rotation and inventory management.
- Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines and regulations.
- Assist with waste management and recycling efforts in the kitchen.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
