Job Description

OK Zimbabwe Limited is seeking an innovative and strategic Chief Learning Officer (CLO) to spearhead our organizational learning and development initiatives. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, long-term learning and development strategy aligned with OK Zimbabwe's business goals and future workforce needs.
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, compliance training, and soft skills enhancement across all levels of the organization.
  • Identify current and future skill gaps through regular needs assessments, performance analysis, and close collaboration with business unit leaders.
  • Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge learning technologies and methodologies (e.g., e-learning, blended learning, microlearning, AI-driven tools) to enhance learning effectiveness and accessibility.
  • Establish robust metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure the impact and ROI of learning initiatives, reporting findings to the executive team.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional growth throughout the company.
  • Manage and mentor a team of learning and development professionals, fostering a high-performance and innovative environment.
  • Oversee the learning and development budget, ensuring cost-effective and high-impact resource allocation.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends in learning science, and talent development to maintain OK Zimbabwe's competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with HR to integrate learning initiatives into broader talent management processes, including onboarding, performance management, and career progression.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and leadership skills with a proven track record in organizational learning and development.
  • Deep expertise in adult learning theories, instructional design principles, and modern learning technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate large-scale, impactful learning programs.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing significant departmental budgets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions and measure program effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and other digital learning tools.
  • Proven experience in change management and organizational development.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex retail environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Learning & Development (e.g., CPTD, ATD credentials).
  • Experience in the retail sector or other high-volume, multi-location environments.
  • Familiarity with Zimbabwean labor laws and educational landscape.
